May Club Projects

For once I am actually posting my monthly club projects!! Maybe I can keep up the pace :) I hope so. Any way, here is the first project for this month -

I used Melon Mambo as a base for a 5" square card and then layered a Rich Razzleberry Scallop Square cut with the big shot. The white layer is 3 3/4" square and then texturized with the SU Daisies plate. Razzleberry Lemonade make the folded frame and the center image is from the new Summer Mini - Watercolor Trio. I then added the bitty buttons for flowers and punched out the sentiment. A complete tutorial can be found here

Our second (& third) projects -

A complete tutorial for the tea light cake can be found here. Super easy and adorable!!

I used the Island Oasis DSP from the Summer Mini, little leaves sizzlit for the big shot along with the trio flower punch and the new itty bitty punches from the mini.

The box - I cut Rose Red to 8 1/2 X 6 1/2 and then scored the 8 1/2 side at 2-4-6-8, turned and scored the 6 1/2 side at 2-4-6. Here is what the box should look like after you cut the score lines and punch out a 1 3/8 circle for the window:

You can then just apply stickey strip to the tab on the right and on one or two of the bottom flaps and fold together. Any questions, please let me know!!

Teacher Appreciation Day

Tuesday was Teacher Appreciation Day, so I made this adorable basket that can be found here. I packed it with a reed diffuser, candle, bath salts and hand lotion. This was a very easy template to follow and it really has unlimited uses!

Birthday Present!!

I finally got my Cricut Expression for my birthday!! Hubby surprised me with it when I got home from North Carolina yesterday. I watched the video that came with it, but I know that doesn't even touch the surface of what this machine can do. I hope to make some vinyl wall art with it. If anyone knows of some good site with tips and ideas, please pass them along!!

I saw this layout at the Heirloom Rubber Stamp & Paper Crafts show in Allentown a few weeks ago and had to CASE it. I changed the flowers and color scheme. I purchased a shadow box frame and gave it to my mom when I visited her in North Carolina this weekend. Now, I just have to make one for myself.

April Scrapbook Club

April's Scrapbook Club projects -

Isn't this just a breath of fresh air? I used Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie and YoYo Yellow on a Whisper White base for this layout. The daisies were cut using the Daisies #2 die for the Big Shot and sponged lightly with YoYo Yellow.
In honor of the Two-Step Stampin promotion, I used a Trendy Trees theme for this layout. The edges of the So Saffron were sponged with Sahara Sand for a Vintage look. The Sweet Pea designer series paper used the Trendy Tree images and ties everything together nicely. As always I kept this layout simple with plenty of room for extra embellishments and a title. The Whisper White strips make a nice place for some journaling.

Technique Class

Now that my wrist is mostly healed and I can stamp again :) It's time for Technique Class again. Here are the four techniques we will be working on tomorrow night!!

Baby Wipe Technique featuring Upsy Daisy. I used Rose Red & Certainly Celery Re-Inkers. The polka-dot paper is from the Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper.

Rolling Marble Technique, Featuring Always. I used Crushed Curry with Dusty Durango Re-Inkers.

I'm not really sure what you would call this, since its really a cross between two techniques - So I went with Polished Stone, since it was closest to that. The difference with this was I stamped and embossed with white onto Glossy White Cardstock. Once that was dry I soaked a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and place one or two drops of re-inkers and the platinum ink from the Holiday Mini (that is still available for purchase), then dabbed the cotton ball over the embossed image. I then used my heat gun to dry the ink and the image appeared through the ink. The card I saw on another blog using a slightly different technique and I believe she used bordering blue instead of Not Quite Navy & Rich Razzleberry.

I am happy with the results - I think it turned out very elegant looking
